National Crime Victims’ Rights Week ~ April 7-13, 2019
This year’s theme – Honoring Our Past. Creating Hope for the Future
Healing Pathway Victim Service Agency will host a Health and Resource
Fair in honor of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) April 7-13, 2019.
While our agency’s primary focus is providing wrap around services for
the children of homicide victims in our area, we want to take this time to do
our part for all victims and co-victims that have suffered from any type of crime
or trauma in our community.
We will be hosting this event to honor and pay tribute not only to children of homicide victims but
to victims of all traumatic events: child abuse, domestic violence, victims of rape and sexual
assault, human trafficking, witnesses to traumatic events, etc. including our First-Responders.
First-responders are also co-victims of violence, and their struggle is often in silence.
There are potential psychological consequences for those in helping professions who
are working with traumatized clients. Healing Pathway wants to acknowledge the
presence of secondary & vicarious trauma within the First Responder community.
We decided to have this event at the Gregg Klice Community Center to bring something positive
to families in that area as well as other areas that have been impacted by so much crime. The goal
of this event is to serve our local community. Our hope is to provide access to services that are
available to assist them in their day to day lives in the area of mental & physical health, safety,
and social issues.
